The Fourth Annual Barbeque Contest and the First Annual Caddis Festival were a tremendous success. We estimate that over 1000 people visited the town of Craig, with a population of 40, on May 15th.
The parade included Queen Judy and King Frisbee on the Craig Bar float, Kristi Blazer on her horse, kids, boats, firetrucks and more. (Watch for it on You Tube later in the week.)
The winners of the barbeque contest include the Trout Shop, in first place, CrossCurrents in second and Ian Anderson, of The Bungalow, in third place. An inscribed trophy will be awarded to The Trout Shop.
The combined proceeds from ticket sales and the auction exceeded $5,000, with the silent auction numbers reaching nearly $3500 alone. The Craig Volunteer Fire Department receives most of the funds, with some of the money being earmarked for Michele Wells to defray health expenses.
The Radical Caddis Women of Craig met last week to discuss upcoming events for the remainder of the season. Watch for possibly a fly fishing derby and a miniature golf tournament.
If you have interest in participating in any events, share your e-mail with us and we can update you on dates and specifics as they become available...
